The Grand Saint Bernard Hospice (Switzerland)
Built by Saint Bernard, archdeacon of Aosta in the 10th century, the Hospice was made famous by the dogs which helped the monks in rescueing lost travellers.
After thousands of pilgrims, merchants, soldiers and travellers, you will be the one to cross the gates of this historic monument. It will be your base camp for the duration of the tour.
Programme :
Day 1: From the Bourg Saint Bernard ski area (elevation 1927 m) , we'll ride the cable car to an altitude of 2801 m. After a short descent to 2437 m, we'll hike up to Tęte de Barasson (2687 m) and ski down to the Grand Saint Bernard Hospice ( 2469 m).
Day 2: ascent of Mont Fourchon ( 2902 m) and back to the Hospice.
Day 3: Ascent of Pointe de Drone (2864 m) then back to Bourg Saint Bernard and transfer to Chamonix.
Required level: previous experience of off piste skiing.
Session: 4 persons minimum.6 persons max.
Time of year: From January to April
Price: 470 € per person
