The Vallee Blanche
Treat yourself to an unforgettable day, 20 kilometers of nonstop skiing in the land of ice.
The starting point of your adventure is Chamonix and the Aiguille du Midi cable car which will take you to an altitude of 3842 metres in 20 minutes.
Between sky and ice, you will get a unique overlook on the Mont Blanc Range and the prestigious peaks whose names evoke the greatest conquests in mountaineering history: Les Drus, Les Grandes Jorasses, La Dent du Géant...
Who is the Vallée Blanche for?
Any good skier who masters parallel turns on red or black runs. But beware, the Vallée Blanche is a high mountain itinerary. It is ungroomed and unmarked and weather conditions can change dramatically in no time. The presence of a mountain guide is therefore absolutely necessary
A dream route
Vallée Blanche is usually feasible from December to May, depending on snow conditions.
There are 7 different routes which will be chosen according to your technical level of ability: the Classic Route for intermediate skiers, the Envers du Plan route for experts.
The starting ridge is the first breathtaking challenge. With everyone being roped to a guide, skis on one shoulder, hand on the guide rope, thrills are assured before the first turns of the day are even made.
Once the skis are slicked on you will feel immediately enveloped in the icey blue world of the glacier, with the red pinnacles of the mountains thrusting upwards all around you.
Throughout the journey you will not cease to be amazed by the spectacular scenery of the glacier and mountains, with the last section allowing you to coast along the literal "sea of ice" to the tongue of the glacier.
If the snow conditions allow it, we will ski all the way down to Chamonix. If not, we will ride the famous Montenvers train back down.
Our advice
The excursion takes between 4 and 6 hours. You always want to dress warmly, take efficient sun glasses, sunblock, a rucksack with water and a picnic lunch to be savoured at the foot of
The Geant Glacier...unless you had rather eat at the Requin Hut and try the warden's delicious cheese "croûte". And don't forget your camera!
.
